– Tethys Petroleum Ltd. has spud the AKD03 Dione exploration well in Kazakhstan’s North Ustyurt basin to test Triassic and Permo-Carboniferous intervals that were not tested in the Doris oil discovery to the northeast.

The Doris discovery flowed oil at a combined rate of more than 6,800 b/d from Cretaceous and Jurassic intervals.

Following Dione, the company plans to further explore the Akkulka block and the large, surrounding Kul-Bas block.
