HOUSTON, May 4
– Bowleven PLC’s EurOil Ltd. unit is to spud May 7 at the IE-3 appraisal well in Block MLHP-7 on the Etinde permit in the Rio Del Rey basin off Cameroon.

The well’s objective is to further appraise and confirm commerciality of the existing IE gas-condensate field. It is to appraise the extent and communication of the main Isongo reservoir sands updip of the existing wells. Proposed depth is 2,800 m.

The well will also penetrate the shallower Biafra gas accumulation and target other deeper Isongo sands. A successful conclusion should promote the rapid development of the IE field for condensate production through gas recycling.

EurOil also plans to drill the IF-2 oil appraisal well and an exploration well on MLHP-5 in the Douala basin.
