HOUSTON, Apr. 30 – A unit of Winchester Oil & Gas SA let a contract to Tuscany International Drilling Inc., Calgary, to drill five wells as deep as 14,000 ft on the Yamu exploration block in Colombia.
Operations are to start in early May and continue through 2010. Tuscany recently constructed and imported the 1,500 hp SCR rig.
Winchester, a private exploration and production company, operates two blocks in the Llanos basin and has working interests in six other blocks in the Llanos, Middle Magdalena, and Catatumbo basins.
Meanwhile, Tuscany Drilling (Brazil) Ltd., Rio de Janeiro, satisfied the requirements to enter into a definitive agreement with HRT Oil & Gas to provide contract drilling services for 4 years in Brazil’s Solimoes basin starting in September 2010 (OGJ Online, Apr. 27, 2010).
