TGS NOPEC Geophysical Co. launched a 15,000-km multiclient 2D seismic survey in Baffin Bay off Greenland’s northwest coast.

HOUSTON, July 19 – TGS NOPEC Geophysical Co. launched a 15,000-km multiclient 2D seismic survey in Baffin Bay off Greenland’s northwest coast.

A large number of companies await the award of blocks in the Baffin Bay tender round, and exploratory drilling is under way off southwest Greenland, TGS noted.

The new Baffin Bay data, expected to be available in the first quarter of 2011, bring the TGS Greenland library to 120,000 km of data, including 40,000 km in Baffin Bay.
