HOUSTON, Oct. 8
– Rooster Petroleum LLC, Houston subsidiary of Morrison Energy Group, placed on production the No. 6 well in 15 ft of water on Eugene Island Block 28 in the Gulf of Mexico.

Production is expected to level off at 5-6 MMcfd of gas and 120 b/d of oil from the lower of two Cib Carst zones that have a combined 60 ft of net pay. Pressure data indicate the zones are part of the same accumulation. TD is 10,950 ft.

Applied Drilling Technologies Inc. drilled the well using the Atwood Richmond submersible, and Chet Morrison Contractors safely installed the deck and heliport on the caisson, laid a 4-in. flow line to the production platform, and performed the hook-up work.

In January 2010, the Rooster EI 28 Well A-3 oil well began producing oil from the Tex W sand. The company plans to continue an active drilling program in the gulf with at least two more wells to delineate the Cib Carst sands on Block 28.
