A group led by Pearl Energy has spudded the Manora-4 appraisal well in the G1/48 concession in the Gulf of Thailand.

HOUSTON, Oct. 25 – A group led by Pearl Energy has spudded the Manora-4 appraisal well in the G1/48 concession in the Gulf of Thailand.
The well is to be drilled to a bottomhole location beyond present field limits to 3,620 m measured depth, 3,080 m true vertical depth. Coring is expected to provide key data for field development planning, including potentially water injection.
The current field resource estimate is 24 million bbl of oil, and the well is to penetrate a deeper zone as yet undrilled in the field.
The location is in 45 m of water 75 km offshore and 230 km south of Bangkok and 1.5 km northeast of the surface location of the Manora-1, 2, and 3 wells.
Interests are Pearl Energy 60% and Northern Gulf Petroleum Pte. Ltd. 40%. Tap Oil Ltd. has a 75% interest in Northern Gulf Petroleum.
