LOS ANGELES, Sept. 28 -- While not providing any reason for its decision, Russia’s Ministry of Natural Resources will allow just two companies, OAO ANK Bashneft and OAO Surgutneftegaz, to bid for rights to develop Trebs and Titov oil fields in Nenetsk autonomous area.

Last week, Russia’s Mineral Resources Agency said six oil companies had entered bids in a tender scheduled for Dec. 2 to develop the Trebs and Titov oil fields (OGJ Online, Sept. 23, 2010).

The firms included Lukoil subsidiary Lukoil-Komi LLC, Bashneft, TNK-BP subsidiary OJSC Samotlorneftegaz, Surgutneftegas, JSC Gazprom Neft, and Nord Imperial LLC, which is part of India's Oil & Natural Gas Corp. group.
