Raimount Energy Inc., Calgary, tested hydrocarbons from Jurassic Rierdon shale at one well in the Woolford Unit No. 1, a freehold unit near Cardston in southern Alberta north of Glacier County, Mont.

HOUSTON, Nov. 9
– Raimount Energy Inc., Calgary, tested hydrocarbons from Jurassic Rierdon shale at one well in the Woolford Unit No. 1, a freehold unit near Cardston in southern Alberta north of Glacier County, Mont.

The well has been completed in the Rierdon shale and recovered 144 bbl of light oil, 454 Mcf of gas, and 5 bbl of water in a 3-day test period.

To verify the significance, the company will recomplete and test other wells in the unit. It holds a 50% working interest in the unit and in 2,500 ha of nonunitized freehold lands nearby.
