HOUSTON, Jan. 29
– Slawson Exploration Inc., private Wichita operator, plans to spud an exploratory well in mid-2010 on the Big Canyon prospect in the West Texas Overthrust, Val Verde basin, Terrell County (see map, OGJ, Nov. 24, 2008, p. 34).

The well is projected to 10,000 ft on a 13,566 net mineral acres in which Cantex Energy Corp., San Antonio, has a 14.5% working interest. Cantex expects the authority for expenditure to list a $1.9 million dry hole cost and $2.9 million for a completed well.
