HOUSTON, Jan. 18
– Det Norske Oljeselskap ASA has spud the 6507/11-10 exploration well 6507/11-10 on the Frusalen prospect on the PL476 license in the North Sea off Norway.

PL476 is 10 km northeast of the Midgard part of Asgard field. The well targets sandstones of Middle Jurassic age in a structural trap. Prospect potential is estimated at 45 million bbl of oil equivalent of gross unrisked prospective resources.

The Songa Delta semisubmersible is to drill to total depth of 2,300 m below mean sea level.

Lundin Petroleum AB, Stockholm, has a 30% working interest in the license.
