Sasol Petroleum Australia Ltd. took a farmout from Finder Exploration Pty. Ltd., private Perth operator, to earn a 45% participating interest in the AC/P 52 exploration permit in the northwestern Browse basin off Western Australia.

HOUSTON, Jan. 12
– Sasol Petroleum Australia Ltd. took a farmout from Finder Exploration Pty. Ltd., private Perth operator, to earn a 45% participating interest in the AC/P 52 exploration permit in the northwestern Browse basin off Western Australia.

Finder Exploration remains operator with 55%. The companies plan to shoot and interpret 500 sq km of 3D seismic in 2010, having defined several prospects and leads including the Cronus multi-tcf gas prospect

Finder Exploration recently farmed out the adjoining AC/P 44 and AC/P 36 blocks to Perenco Australia (SE) Pty. Ltd.
