HOUSTON, Aug. 9 – An exploratory well should be spudded in October on Oman Block 47 about 150 km southwest of Muscat, said RAK Petroleum PCL, Dubai.
The drilling would occur pending final agreement of terms with a potential partner, said RAK, which holds 100% interest in the block.
The Zad-2 well would be drilled on the Zad gas-condensate prospect in the Cambrian Amin sandstone, an analog of nearby Kauther field, in the southern part of the block and 10 km from a gas pipeline.
