Deepwater drillship starts work off India

HOUSTON, Mar. 8 -- The new Dhirubhai Deepwater KG2 drillship, owned by a joint venture of Transocean Ltd. and Pacific Drilling Ltd., has begun work under a 5-year contract with Reliance Industries Ltd. off India.
The dynamically positioned drillship, with a variable deckload of about 20,000 tonnes, can drill to 35,000 ft in 12,000 ft of water.
