LOS ANGELES, Mar. 23 – Zeromax GmbH, Switzerland, has reported two discoveries of natural gas in the Bukhara-Khiva license area of Uzbekistan, where it is working as part of the Gissarneftegaz joint venture with state-owned Uzbekneftegaz.

The firm said a Jurassic limestone interval encountered at 3,234 m flowed 400,000 cu m/day of gas and condensate through a 14 mm choke during formation tool testing of the No. 3 well in the Tavakkal prospect area.

And it said its UzGazOil FSV subsidiary reported a flow of 100,000 cu m/day of gas and condensate through an 8 mm choke from Callovian Oxford limestone at 3,830-50 m during tests of the No. 1 well in the Hudjum prospect area.

“Both these results confirm the discovery of new hydrocarbon fields,” Zeromax said. It said appraisal drilling is planned.
