HOUSTON, Mar. 24
– Otto Energy Ltd., Perth, launched a 900 line-km 2D seismic survey in Service Contract 69 in the Philippines Visayan basin.

SC 69 covers 7,040 sq km in the central Visayan basin, where numerous untested reef plays and structural targets have been identified on recently reprocessed regional 2D seismic.

The offshore part of the East Visayan basin is relatively unexplored and covered by a sparse vintage 2D seismic grid and few offshore wells (OGJ, August 21, 1995, p. 68). The new survey aims to delineate and mature several identified structural leads and support better understanding of the petroleum systems, Otto Energy said.
