HOUSTON, May 17
– Apache Corp. told shareholders it has become the largest acreage holder in Alaska’s Cook Inlet with interests in 300,000 acres.

A new ventures map shows the company’s acreage extends from northwest of Anchorage to the Homer area. A majority of the acreage appears to be onshore.

While little 3D seismic has been shot in Cook Inlet to date, Apache said an extensive 3D survey is to commence in the second half of 2011.
