HOUSTON, July 19
– PetroQuest Energy Inc., Lafayette, said a well on the La Cantera prospect in Vermilion Parish, La., in which it has 16% net revenue interest logged 232 ft gross, 176 ft net of highly resistive sand in the primary Cris R Massive objective. TD is 18,550 ft.

As a result of stuck pipe in the bottom 550 ft of the well, the company was only able to obtain porosity information in the upper portion of the logged sands that confirmed 37 ft of net commercial pay. The company is sidetracking the wellbore to fully evaluate the entire sand package and test deeper objectives.

The well has a proposed vertical depth of 19,300 ft and is expected to be on production during the fourth quarter.
