HOUSTON, June 10
– Zion Oil & Gas Inc., Dallas, said its Ma’anit-Joseph-3 exploratory well onshore in Israel has reached 19,020 ft measured depth and that cuttings indicate the well has begun to penetrate the primary target Permian geologic layer.

The company’s plan is to continue drilling to a total depth of 19,360 ft in Permian, where it will run and analyze open-hole logs to determine whether to cement casing for production tests.
