Texas: Woodbine horizontal oil trend expanding

HOUSTON, Mar. 31 -- New Gulf Energy LLC, Tulsa, reported a flow of 1,395 b/d of oil and 800 Mcfd of gas from tight Cretaceous Woodbine sandstone at Alphin-1H, its 13th horizontal Woodbine well, in Madison County, Tex.
New Gulf Energy, operating as Petro Texas LLC, and its joint venture partner Petromax Operating Inc. are drilling a 14th well. The wells have had laterals of more than 8,000 ft and as many as 38 frac stages.
