FERC APPROVES PGT PROJECT
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has approved construction of the Pacific Gas Transmission Co. segment of the proposed PGT-Pacific Gas & Electric Co. expansion project.
The PGT segment will transport 148 MMcfd of Canadian natural gas to the Pacific Northwest and 755 MMcfd to California. It will link with an expansion of PG&E's system from Malin, Ore., to Fresno County, Calif. In addition, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service said the PGT-PG&E expansion posed no threat to threatened or endangered species, and Bureau of Land Management issued the project rights of way grants for federal lands in Idaho, Washington, Oregon, and California. Mainline construction is to begin in January 1992. Start-up is slated for November 1993.
