PETRO-CANADA TESTS GAS

Petro-Canada, Calgary, reports a major gas discovery at Klua, 25 miles southeast of Fort Nelson, B.C. The company has drilled four successful wells. Three flowed more than 30 MMcfd each. Petro-Canada said drilling to date indicates marketable reserves of 75 bcf, and there are about 25 drillable locations in the field. Petro-Canada has a 100% interest in the area and says it will spend $15 million in 1991 on exploration and development. An $11.5 million pipeline is also planned from the Klua

Petro-Canada, Calgary, reports a major gas discovery at Klua, 25 miles southeast of Fort Nelson, B.C.

The company has drilled four successful wells. Three flowed more than 30 MMcfd each.

Petro-Canada said drilling to date indicates marketable reserves of 75 bcf, and there are about 25 drillable locations in the field.

Petro-Canada has a 100% interest in the area and says it will spend $15 million in 1991 on exploration and development. An $11.5 million pipeline is also planned from the Klua area to Fort Nelson.

Westcoast Energy Inc., Vancouver, B.C., and Petro-Canada have completed a 10 year service agreement. Gas from the area is expected to flow before yearend to serve Vancouver Island and California markets.
