FARMLAND TO SHUT DOWN KANSAS REFINERY

Farmland Industries, Kansas City, Mo., will permanently close its 27,500 b/d Phillipsburg, Kan., refinery because of lack of profits from asphalt sales and the need for environmental upgrading.
