Large actuator built for line to Qatar LNG plant
Last-minute adjustments are made to what manufacturer Bettis Corp., Houston, believes to be the world's largest pneumatic valve actuator before it is packed and shipped to Qatar for service on a 50-in. high-performance butterfly valve serving a pipeline to an LNG plant. The G-Series model G130T52-SR1 actuator weighs about 11 tons and is 23.5 ft long with a 53.25-in. diameter power module. It will generate 2.3 million lb-in. of spring-end torque.
