High-pressure capability added to Coriolis meter line

High-pressure capability has been added to the Micro Motion F-Series compact Coriolis meter line.

Rated to 5,000 psi, this new meter offers flow and density measurement in demanding, high-pressure environments at flow rates to 300 lb/min.

The firm says its unit promises measurement accuracy for mass flow, density, and volume flow. When combined with MVD Technology, F-Series meters deliver mass flow accuracy up to ±0.1% and volume flow accuracy up to ±0.15% when measuring liquids.

On liquid density, meters are accurate up to ±0.001 g/cc. With no moving parts to wear out or break down, and no need for periodic recalibration, units consistently help increase plant profitability by reducing maintenance and downtime costs, the firm points out.

Simulation tool for process engineers

Newly released Version 7.1 of PRO/II steady-state flow sheeting and optimization simulation tool aids process and design engineers through enhanced life cycle modeling, improved productivity, and support for open standards and third-party modeling integration.

Under the SIM4ME common modeling framework, Version 7.1 enables the seamless transfer of data from the PRO/II environment to the ROMeo environment for online optimization and performance monitoring. The SIM4ME framework also allows users to easily migrate flow sheets created in competitive products to the PRO/II environment.

Also, PIPEPHASE steady-state multiphase flow simulation package has been integrated into PRO/II for embedded upstream hydraulic network calculation along with downstream process flow sheets. The interface supports recycle streams and integrated optimization, allowing modeling of the interactions between piping-production networks and associated processing facilities.

Version 7.1 also includes new thermodynamics functionality for handling complex chemical systems plus several additional enhancements that can help improve engineering productivity by reducing model development and convergence time.

System makes geopressure data readily available

The Pressworks system is a new software system for managing geopressure information. The relational database helps operators protect, share, and store pressure-related data from diverse sets of well and reservoir information and well log data. The database can help streamline workflow and increase efficiency among all team members, the firm says.
