BP DRILLS FASTEST WELL IN NORTH SEA

BP Exploration Operating Co. Ltd. has drilled the fastest well in the North Sea. Ocean Alliance, a semisubmersible drilling rig operated by Diamond M-Odeco Drilling Inc. from Aberdeen, drilled BP's 16/18-4 exploration well to 2,000 m in 5 1/2 days. That beat the previous North Sea record of 1,350 m in 6 1/4 days set in 1969.
