NOVA GAS SHIPMENTS KEEP CLIMBING
Gas deliveries through the Alberta pipeline system of NOVA Corp., Calgary, continue to climb to record volumes.
The system delivered 1.09 tcf in first quarter 1995, up 8% from the same period of 1994, a record year for deliveries. First quarter 1995 movements through the NOVA Gas Transmission Ltd. (NGTL) system averaged 12.1 bcfd.
The greatest gain in deliveries occurred at the Alberta-British Columbia border, where Alberta Natural Gas Co. Ltd. collects Alberta gas for delivery into the Pacific Gas Transmission (PGT) system. PGT delivers gas to the U.S. Northwest and California.
NGTL has its sights set on another record year for gas deliveries in 1995, due to a record $826 million (Canadian) expansion program in 1994.
The company delivered 4.1 tcf in 1994, its eighth straight yearly record.
Prices for Alberta gas averaged about $1.35 (Canadian)/Mcf in first quarter 1995. Using this average, the market value of gas moving through the NGTL system in the first 3 months of this year would be nearly $1.5 billion.
