Aberdeen, has named Ian Baxter and Sandy McBain sales engineers. Baxter and McBain will be responsible for identifying and defining new markets for Carrack services, as well as negotiating alliances and co-operative partnerships within these markets worldwide. Both team members will also be responsible for raising Carrack's international profile by promoting its services to global oil and gas and energy markets.
Baxter has over 15 years' experience in trading oil field equipment in the Middle East. McBain has been working in the tubulars market since 1973 and has vast experience in the inspection and sales of oil field casing and tubing goods.
Carrack holds a range of oil field stock in Europe, the Far East, West Africa, and the US.
NACE International
Houston, has named Elaine Bowman, director of marketing for Baker Petrolite Corp., vice-president for NACE International-the Corrosion Society effective March 2001.
Bowman has more than 25 years' experience in product management, marketing, and communications in the energy industry. She received a BA in marketing from St. Edward's University and an MBA from Houston Baptist University. Bowman has been a member of NACE since 1980 serving in most offices of the Houston section. She is certified as a corrosion technician through the NACE International Certification Program and has presented numerous papers at NACE conferences on the topic of internal corrosion programs for pipeline systems.
GeoMechanics International Inc.
Palo Alto, Calif., announced that it has entered into a strategic alliance with Landmark Graphics Corp. The alliance brings together Landmark's suite of geophysical, geological, and drilling engineering software with GMI's wellbore stability, image analysis, and rock mechanics software for the worldwide energy industry.
Through the alliance, Landmark will integrate GMI's core technologies with its product lines, and market and distribute GMI's existing software packages. In addition, Landmark and GMI will work together to expand and develop new products. This alliance will build on GMI's existing partnership with Halliburton Energy Services (HES) to provide a full range of geomechanical products and services for wellbore stability and all stages of reservoir development.
