Petrobras officially elects Chambriard as CEO

Petrobras has officially appointed Magda Chambriard as a member of the board of directors and elected her as CEO.

Petróleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras), at a board meeting May 24, officially appointed Magda Chambriard as a member of the board of directors and elected her as the company's new chief executive officer.

On May 14, Petrobras noted receipt of an official letter from the Ministry of Mines and Energy indicating it would appoint Chambriard, a former Brazilian energy regulator, to the position of chief executive following the early termination of Jean Paul Prates (OGJ Online, May 15, 2024).

Chambriard started her career at Petrobras in 1980. In 2002, she was transferred to the Brazilian National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas, and Biofuels (ANP). She became head of ANP’s directory in 2008, and head of the director general office in 2012.
