Patton, Braden added to Howard Midstream’s leadership team

Howard Midstream Energy Partners LLC (HEP) has added Roy Patton as chief commercial officer and executive vice-president and Brett Braden as general counsel and senior vice-president. Both appointments are effective immediately.

Howard Midstream Energy Partners LLC (HEP) has added Roy Patton as chief commercial officer and executive vice-president and Brett Braden as general counsel and senior vice-president. Both appointments are effective immediately.

Patton joins Howard Energy Partners with about 35 years of natural gas pipeline industry experience including gathering and processing, high-pressure transmission pipelines, business development, and mergers and acquisitions.

Before joining HEP, he was senior vice-president of commercial operations at Energy Transfer Partners LP, where his responsibilities included the management of 7,500 miles of pipelines in Texas and Louisiana and more than 60 bcf of natural gas storage.

Patton most recently oversaw ETP’s activities in Mexico and was responsible for creating 1 bcfd of new business and developing more than 300 miles of 42-in. pipeline with more than 2.5 bcfd of capacity from the Permian basin to Mexico.

Braden has been an energy lawyer in Houston for almost 20 years. Before joining HEP, he served as a founding partner at Latham & Watkins LLP’s Houston office, which he helped form in 2010.

Primarily focused on corporate finance and merger and acquisition matters, he has experience representing master limited partnerships and other companies engaged in the upstream, midstream, and oil field services businesses.

Braden has experience representing both public and private energy companies in divestitures, joint ventures, and corporate governance and compliance matters. Before joining Latham & Watkins, he was a partner at Vinson & Elkins LLP in Houston.
