Reconnaissance Energy Africa Ltd., Vancouver, has appointed Brian Reinsborough president and chief executive officer, effective Aug. 1.
Reinsborough has 35 years of oil and gas exploration and production experience including roles within Mobil Oil, Nexen, Warburg Pincus, and Venari Resources. Over his career he has been involved with some of the largest Gulf of Mexico discoveries including Appomattox, Anchor, and Shenandoah, and has raised over $2 billion of private equity financing in his previous company.
Reinsborough succeeds Scot Evans who had served as chief executive officer since August 2020 (OGJ Online, Aug. 25, 2020).
