Tellurian names Driftwood asset president, COO retires
Tellurian Inc., Houston, has hired Samik Mukherjee to serve as executive vice-president and president, Driftwood assets, the company said in a May 16 release.
In the same release, the company said Chief Operating Officer Keith Teague is retiring from full time employment and will continue with Tellurian in an advisory role. Teague joined Tellurian in 2016.
Mukherjee previously served as executive vice-president and chief operating officer of McDermott International Ltd. and holds over 30 years of experience in the energy industry.
In March, Tellurian issued a limited notice to proceed to Bechtel Energy Inc. under its executed engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract to begin construction of phase one of the 27.6-million tonne/year (tpy) Driftwood LNG liquefaction plant in Calcasieu Parish, La. (OGJ Online, Mar. 28, 2022).
Executive Chairman Charif Souki, in a recent video, said he is optimistic the company can secure one or more equity partners to help fund the $12-billion liquefaction plant “in the next few weeks” (OGJ Online, May 12, 2022).
