Continental Resources Inc., Oklahoma City, has named Jim Webb as senior vice-president, general counsel, chief risk officer, and secretary effective Sept. 1, 2021, following the planned retirement of Eric S. Eissenstat, who plans to return to private practice to serve clients, including Continental Resources.
Eissenstat joined Continental in 2010 as general counsel after having provided years of legal counsel to the company since the late 1980s in private practice, the company said in a June 16 release.
Eissenstat will remain with the operator for an unspecified period of time to work on substantive matters and transition his duties to Webb, according to the release.
Webb previously served as executive vice-president, general counsel, and corporate secretary at Chesapeake Energy and was in private practice for 19 years in Denver, Colo., and Oklahoma City, Okla. prior to joining Chesapeake.
