Vermilion Energy Inc., Calgary, has appointed Lorenzo Donadeo as executive chairman, Curtis Hicks as president, and has created an executive committee in lieu of a chief executive officer following the departure of Anthony Marino as president, chief executive officer, and director, effective immediately, after 8 years with the company.
Donadeo has 39 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He was a co-founder of Vermilion in 1994 and has served as chairman since Mar. 1, 2016. From 2014 to 2016, Donadeo served as chief executive officer.
With 40 years of experience in the industry, Hicks rejoins the company after serving as executive vice-president and chief financial officer from 2003 to 2018.
Instead of naming a new chief executive officer, Vermilion has created an executive committee consisting of a minimum of five senior executives to include the executive chairman, president, chief financial officer, chief operating officer, executive vice-president of people and culture, and vice-president of business development.
