Petrobras lets contract for two FPSOs for Sergipe-Alagoas basin development
Petróleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) has let contracts for two FPSO projects in the Sergipe-Alagoas basin offshore northeastern Brazil to SBM Offshore.
SBM Offshore will design, build, and operate FPSOs SEAP-I and SEAP-II. The Petrobras-led consortia will own the FPSOs and SBM Offshore will operate them for an initial period of 6.5 years under separate operations and maintenance contracts.
SEAP-II FPSO (P-87) will be designed to produce 120,000 b/d of oil, will have associated gas treatment capacity of 425 MMscfd, and water injection capacity of 120,000 b/d. Delivery of the FPSO, which will operate in the Sergipe-Alagoas basin, is expected in 2030. The FPSO will operate about 80 km off the coast, spread moored in water depth of about 2,500 m.
SEAP-I FPSO (P-81) will be designed to produce 120,000 b/d of oil with associated gas treatment of 355 MMscfd, and water injection capacity of 200,000 b/d. Delivery is expected in 2031. The FPSO will operate about 100 km off the coast, spread moored in water depth of about 2,500 m.
A connected export pipeline allow associated gas to be transported to shore for commercial use, supporting domestic gas usage in Brazil while minimizing flaring and reinjection offshore and monetizing gas alongside oil production, SMB Offshore said.
