bp Exploration (Caspian Sea) Ltd. let a contract to Oceaneering International Inc. for light well intervention services for Azeri-Chirag-Deepwater Gunashli (ACG) oil field in the Azerbaijan sector of the Caspian Sea.

Oceaneering will support a multi-well mechanical wireline intervention campaign with one of its deepwater RLWI systems integrated onto a subsea construction vessel, the service provider said in a release. The scope of work will also include project management, engineering, and systems integration services.

Engineering and premobilization activities have started, and field operations are expected to begin in this year's fourth quarter.

bp started oil production from the Azeri Central East (ACE) platform in 2024 as part of the ACG development, and the project is expected to produce up to 300 million bbl over its lifetime. Oil passes through the processing infrastructure on the platform and is then exported about 130 km to the onshore Sangachal terminal.

bp is operator of ACG with 30.37% interest. Partners are SOCAR (25.0%), MOL (9.57%), INPEX (9.31%), Equinor (7.27%), ExxonMobil (6.79%), TPAO (5.73%), ITOCHU (3.65%), and ONGCVidesh (2.31%).
