WASHINGTON, DC, Oct. 15 -- The US Environmental Protection Agency fined Sheridan Production Co. LLC $3,000 for violating the federal Clean Water Act.

The fine settles charges that the Houston-based independent producer spilled 1,000 gal of oil into Mill Creek and adjoining land in Pontotoc County, Okla., according to EPA’s Region 6 office in Dallas.
