US Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Andrew R. Wheeler extended temporary emergency fuel waivers on June 12 for Allegheny County, Pa. The waivers were due to expire on June 17.

The new waivers are scheduled to expire on July 1 at midnight.

The agency issued the temporary waivers on May 29 after determining that damage to the Buckeye Laurel pipeline, which supplies low volatility gasoline to the area near Pittsburgh, continue to create extreme and unusual fuel supply circumstances there (OGJ Online, May 31, 2019). Wheeler extended the waivers after determining the extreme and unusual fuel supply circumstances still exist, EPA said.
