The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) will change its name to the Norwegian Offshore Directorate as of Jan. 1, 2024.
The changes reflect responsibilities beyond the petroleum industry that have been assigned to the directorate in recent years including those related to CO2 storage (CCS), offshore wind, and seabed minerals, it said in a release Nov. 16.
Regulations and agreements will be continued.
