Market watch: Most energy futures prices decline

Except for natural gas, all petroleum energy futures declined in the two major international energy markets Friday. The July contract for benchmark US light, sweet crudes fell 44¢ to $27.93/bbl on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

HOUSTON, June 4 -- Except for natural gas, all petroleum energy futures declined in the two major international energy markets Friday.

The July contact for benchmark US light, sweet crudes fell 44¢ to $27.93/bbl on the New York Mercantile Exchange, while the August contract was down 35¢ to $28.17/bbl.

Home heating oil for July delivery dropped 1.44¢ to 75.92¢/gal. Unleaded gasoline for the same month lost 1.28¢ to 93.3¢/gal on the NYMEX.

However, the July natural gas contract gained 1.6¢ to $3.93/Mcf.

In London, the North Sea Brent crude contract for July declined 27¢ to $29.07/bbl on the International Petroleum Exchange. The natural gas contract for the same month moved up 3.8¢ to the equivalent of $3.09/Mcf on the IPE.
