MARKET WATCH: Crude oil benchmarks make gains

Light, sweet crude oil prices on the New York Mercantile Exchange for November gained 55¢ to $53.36/bbl on Oct. 16 while the December contract increased 57¢ to $53.45/bbl.

The November natural gas price decreased 3.6¢ to a rounded $2.30/MMbtu on Oct. 16.

Ultralow-sulfur diesel for November gained a rounded 3.3¢ to a rounded $1.94/gal. The NYMEX reformulated gasoline blendstock for November rose a little more than a penny to reach a rounded $1.62/gal.

Brent crude for December rose 68¢ to $59.42/bbl. The January contract was up 62¢ to settle at $59.16/bbl.

Gas oil for November increased $4.25 to $587.75/tonne on Oct. 15.

The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries’ basket of crudes on Oct. 16 was $59.28/bbl, down 34¢.
