Accounting firm Weaver and Tidwell LLP has named Tommy Lawler managing partner and CEO. Kerry Caves has been appointed to the COO position previously held by Lawler. Current managing partner W.M. “Mack” Lawhon will be chairman of the firm. He joined Weaver and Tidwell in 1972, and was appointed managing partner in 1986.

RBC Capital Markets appoints Freer as US COO
RBC Capital Markets has appointed Deborah Freer as managing director and COO for its US operations. Prior to joining RBC, Freer spent 20 years with Merrill Lynch. Freer was most recently with Citigroup’s global financing services business, where she was head of client integration. RBC Capital Markets is the corporate and investment banking arm of RBC.
Southwestern Energy promotes Mueller to CEO
Independent exploration and production company Southwestern Energy Co. has promoted Steven L. Mueller to CEO. With over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, Mueller joined Southwestern in June 2008 as president and COO. He graduated from the Colorado School of Mines and has served in various roles at Tenneco Oil Co., Fina Oil Co., American Exploration Co., Belco Oil & Gas Co., The Houston Exploration Co., and CDX Gas LLC. Harold M. Korell, the company’s previous CEO, was also appointed to serve as executive chairman of the board until his retirement no earlier than the end of the first quarter of 2010, after which he will become the non-executive chairman.

Cobalt International Energy LP has named Rodney Gray as CFO and executive vice president. Prior to joining Cobalt, Gray held the position of vice president and CFO of Colonial Pipeline in Atlanta. Wild Well Control promotes Gebhardt to president
Wild Well Control Inc., a provider of firefighting, well control, well control engineering and training services to the energy industry, has promoted Freddy Gebhardt to the position of president. Since 2005, Gebhardt has served as executive vice president and general manager of Wild Well Control Inc. He has more than 30 years’ experience in the energy industry. He originally joined Wild Well Control in 1983. Wild Well Control is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Superior Energy Services Inc.
Stephens expands energy investment banking with three from Energy Capital Solutions
Stephens Inc., a full-service investment banking and brokerage firm, has expanded its investment banking group. Led by managing directors Keith J. Behrens, Ronald S. Montalbano, and Bradley D. Nelson, the team will focus on raising capital and M&A advisory services for public and private energy companies. Will Page joins as a vice president. Most recently, Behrens served as a managing director and co-founder of Energy Capital Solutions. He has more than 17 years of investment banking experience. Montalbano has 15 years of industry experience. Previously he was a managing director at Energy Capital Solutions. Nelson served as a managing director and co-founder of Energy Capital Solutions.
ConocoPhillips makes senior management changes
ConocoPhillips’ executive vice president, exploration and production, Jim Gallogly, has elected to retire from the company to become the CEO of LyondellBasell. Additionally, Ryan M. Lance, formerly president, exploration and production – Asia, Africa, Middle East and Russia/Caspian, is now senior vice president, exploration and production – international. Kevin O. Meyers, formerly president, Canada, exploration and production, is now senior vice president, exploration and production – Americas. Kevin J. Mitchell, formerly general manager, finance, strategy and planning, exploration and production, has been named vice president, exploration and production – strategy, administration and technical services.
OFS Portal elects three to board of managers
Houston-based OFS Portal LLC elected Maggie Montaigne, Paul Krueger and Steve Sidney to its board of managers. OFS Portal is a member-based group that works to advance eCommerce in the upstream industry. Montaigne is an account vice president for Halliburton. Montaigne holds a bachelor’s degree from Colgate University and a master’s degree from the University of Colorado. Krueger is senior vice president and chief information officer at VetcoGray. He has a master’s degree from DePaul University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa. Sidney is the managing director of business applications and knowledge management for Baker Hughes Inc. He has a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from the University of East Anglia in the UK.
Delta Petroleum bids farewellto chairman, CEO Parker
After 22 years, Delta Petroleum Corp.’s chairman and CEO, Roger Parker, has resigned to pursue other business interests. He will remain as a consultant for six months. The board has formed a committee of independent directors tasked with searching for a new CEO. John Wallace will continue in his role as president and will function as the senior executive officer of the company until a new CEO found. Daniel Taylor, a Delta Petroleum board member since February 2008 and a Tracinda Corp. executive, was elected chairman. Tracinda currently owns roughly 34% of Delta’s shares and is the company’s largest shareholder.
Questar CFO to retire after 35 years; Doleshek named as EVP, CFO
Questar Corp.’s senior vice president and CFO, Stephen E. Parks, has elected to retire July 1, 2009, after 35 years with the company. Parks began his career at Questar in 1974 and become CFO in 1996. Questar has named Richard J. Doleshek as executive vice president and CFO, effective May 7, 2009. From 2001 to April 2009 Doleshek served as executive vice president and CFO of Houston-based Hilcorp Energy Co., a private E&P company. Doleshek began his career in 1980 with Amoco Production Co.
Noble Energy elects Stover president
Independent oil and gas exploration and production company Noble Energy Inc. has elected David L. Stover as president in addition to his current role as COO. Prior to joining Noble Energy in 2002, Stover held senior management positions with BP and predecessor companies Vastar Resources and ARCO. The company operates primarily in the Rocky Mountains, Mid-Continent, and deepwater Gulf of Mexico areas in the US.
Jeffrey Nichols moves to Haynes and Boone Houston Energy Group
Jeffrey J. Nichols has moved to Haynes and Boone LLP as a partner in the firm’s Energy and Power Practice Group in Houston. He will focus on structured energy transactions for oil and gas, and electric power companies as well as financial institutions. Nichols was previously a senior counsel with Dynegy Inc. Most recently he has been involved in alternative energy projects. Nichols graduated from the University of Michigan and obtained a JD and MBA from Southern Methodist University.

Sanford (Sandy) Andrew has been appointed to the office of president and COO of independent exploration and production company, Petroflow Energy Ltd. Andrew has served as Petroflow’s COO since the company was formed in 2005. John Melton continues as Petroflow’s CEO. Andrew has 30 years of industry experience.
Flowserve names Freeman VP, treasurer; taps Fehlman VPfinancial planning, analysis, IR
Flowserve Corp., a provider of flow control products and services for the global infrastructure markets, has named Dean P. Freeman vice president and treasurer. Freeman rotates into the role previously held by Paul Fehlman, who was recently named vice president financial planning and analysis and investor relations. Freeman will also serve as chairman of the company’s pension and investment committee. Prior to Flowserve, Freeman served as CFO, European operations, for Stanley Works Corp. Freeman earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Fehlman has more than 19 years of financial management experience. Occidental Petroleum has elected Anita Powers as a vice president of Occidental Petroleum and executive vice president, worldwide exploration, Oxy Oil and Gas. Powers has spent the past 30 years at Oxy. Since December 2006, she has served as vice president of worldwide exploration. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University.
Mayer Brown expands Houston office with Robert Goldberg
Law firm Mayer Brown has added Robert S. Goldberg to its Houston office as a partner in the global projects group. Previously, he was a partner in the Houston office of Chadbourne & Parke. Goldberg advises lenders, investors, sponsors, developers and other participants in domestic and international project finance and corporate matters and has experience in the restructuring and refinancing of project finance and other debt outside of bankruptcy. ExxonMobil board elects Kenneth C. Frazier
Exxon Mobil Corp. shareholders have elected Kenneth C. Frazier to the company’s board of directors. Frazier is currently executive vice president and president, Global Human Health, at Merck & Co. Inc. Frazier’s election brings the ExxonMobil board to ten directors, nine of whom are non-employee directors. He will serve on the board affairs and public issues and contributions committees. Frazier earned a bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University and a JD from Harvard Law School.
Vaughn to lead Devon’s new offshore division
Oklahoma City-based Devon Energy Corp. plans to combine the company’s International and Gulf Divisions into one offshore division. The newly formed Offshore Division will remain in Houston. Tony D. Vaughn has been named senior vice president and will lead the newly-formed division. Vaughn was previously senior vice president of Devon’s Gulf Division. He holds bachelor’s degrees from the University of Tulsa and Oral Roberts University.

Petro Resources Corp. has hired Gary C. Evans as chairman and Ronald D. Ormand as executive vice president, CFO, and a member of the board. Evans founded and served as chairman and CEO of Magnum Hunter Resources for 20 years before selling it to Cimarex Energy in 2005. He then formed GreenHunter Energy Inc. and currently serves as chairman and CEO. He also serves as chairman and CEO of Gruy Petroleum Management LLC Inc. Ormand most recently he served as senior VP and CFO for Gruy Petroleum Management LLC Inc. and as president of Perugia Advisors Inc. Ormand received his bachelor’s degree and his MBA from the University of California Los Angeles. Wayne P. Hall has resigned as chairman and CEO, but remains in the capacity of vice chairman. Donald L. Kirkendall continues as president, but has resigned as a board member.
