ExxonMobil Corp. has signed a 3-year, $570 million contract for Seadrill Ltd.'s West Polaris (Mosvold I) ultradeepwater drillship for use in international exploration.
By OGJ editors HOUSTON, Jan. 11 -- ExxonMobil Corp. has signed a 3-year, $570 million contract for Seadrill Ltd.'s West Polaris (Mosvold I) ultradeepwater drillship for use in international exploration.
About a year of the contract's duration will be used by other operators, namely Ophir Energy Co. Ltd. of South Africa.
West Polaris is under construction at Samsung Heavy Industries' shipyard in South Korea and is scheduled for delivery at the end of second quarter 2008.
