Shell Nigeria Exploration & Production Co. Ltd. signed an interim contract with SeaBird Exploration PLC, Cyprus, and local partner Sonar Ltd. for an ocean bottom node seismic survey in Nigeria.

HOUSTON, Aug. 17 – Shell Nigeria Exploration & Production Co. Ltd. signed an interim contract with SeaBird Exploration PLC, Cyprus, and local partner Sonar Ltd. for an ocean bottom node seismic survey in Nigeria.

The survey will be conducted by the Hugin Explorer with a capacity of 750 proprietary autonomous CASE Abyss nodes onboard and the source vessel Munin Explorer. Mobilization started Aug. 12 in direct continuation from the node survey in the North Sea for Chevron.

The survey is to start in mid-September with an expected duration of 3 months including mobilization and demobilization, subject to signing a final agreement.
