HOUSTON, Oct. 15
– Royale Energy Inc., San Diego, reported an apparent new field discovery in northern California’s Sacramento basin 1 mile north of Lone Star field.

The company set production casing at the Goddard 7-1 well, in Colusa County, drilled to 6,200 ft. Royale Energy said the apparent discovery, on a 3D seismic amplitude at a previously unexplored depth, found pressure higher than that in the field to the south.

The company said the well opens up development opportunities.
