BLM extends comment period for Monument Butte gas project draft EIS

The US Bureau of Land Management will provide an additional 30 days for public comments on the draft environmental impact statement for Newfield Exploration Co.’s proposed Monument Butte natural gas project in eastern Utah.

The US Bureau of Land Management will provide an additional 30 days for public comments on the draft environmental impact statement for Newfield Exploration Co.’s proposed Monument Butte natural gas project in eastern Utah.

Comments on the proposal to drill as many as 5,750 wells over 16 years in an existing oil and gas producing area in Duchesne and Uintah counties now will be accepted until Mar. 5, BLM’s Vernal, Utah, field office said on Jan. 31.
