Northern Border Pipeline Co., Omaha, has assigned line capacity to 10 gas shippers on its $373 million expansion/extension project.

Another seven firms met all the criteria during Northern Border's preliminary request period. They will be assigned capacity on the project, set for November 1991 start-up, if it becomes available (OGJ, June 25, p. 20).

Those with capacity are Alenco Resources Inc., Canterra Natural Gas Inc., Mobil Oil Canada, Natgas U.S. Inc. and Suncor Inc., all of Calgary, Enron Gas Marketing Inc., Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line Co., and Tennessee Gas Pipeline, all of Houston, Amerada Hess Corp., Tulsa, and Prairielands Energy Marketing Inc., Bismarck, N.D.

Companies awaiting capacity and the order in which it will be assigned are Unigas Corp., Calgary, Union Gas Ltd., Chatham, Ont., Amoco Energy Trading Corp., Chicago, Sceptre Resources Ltd., Bow Valley Industries Ltd., and Encor Energy (America) Inc., all of Calgary, and Nortech Energy Corp., Houston.

Northern Border required all prospective shippers to fulfill conditions of demonstrated creditworthiness and supply availability, purchase at least 12 years of service, and present an executed precedent contract.

The company then allotted capacity based on the dates that it received service requests and terms of service desired.
