HOUSTON, Oct. 27 -- Dragon Oil PLC, London, appointed Essa Almulla as CEO. He was an executive director and deputy CEO.

Chairman Hussain M. Sultan, who was appointed interim CEO in February 2002 to take the company forward until a suitable CEO was identified, returns to his sole role as chairman.
