HOUSTON, Oct. 29 -- Schlumberger Ltd. acquired privately owned AOA Geomarine Operations LLC (AGO).

Houston-based AGO, with operations offices in San Diego, Calif., provides marine controlled-source electromagnetic (CSEM) and marine magnetotelluric (MMT) services for use in offshore exploration.

AGO provides survey planning design and execution, advanced data processing, geophysical modeling, and inversion together with data interpretation and prospect evaluation. The company developed and manufactures its specialized equipment.

AGO President and CEO Lionel Fray will continue to head AGO, which will operate as a Schlumberger company.
