Petrobras Bolivia to export gas to Argentina

Petróleos Brasileiro SA (Petrobras), through its Petrobras Bolivia affiliate, is initiating the export of natural gas to Argentina from a production plant in San Alberto field in southern Bolivia.

HOUSTON, June 13 -- Petróleos Brasileiro SA (Petrobras), through its Petrobras Bolivia affiliate, is initiating the export of natural gas to Argentina from a production plant in San Alberto field in southern Bolivia.

Phase I sales over the next 6 months will help augment Argentina's scarce energy supplies as it moves into winter.

In Phase I, Petrobras will export 4 million cu m/day of natural gas to Argentina, 3 million of which is produced in Petrobras Bolivia-operated San Alberto field. The gas will be processed in Argentina by a Petrobras Energía unit Refinor SA. Processed liquefied petroleum gas also will be commercialized in Argentina.
