Royal Dutch Petroleum nominates new managing director

Royal Dutch Petroleum Co. has recommended that its shareholders later this month elect Linda Zarda Cook as a managing director, effective Aug. 1.

HOUSTON, June 1 -- Royal Dutch Petroleum Co. has recommended that its shareholders later this month elect Linda Zarda Cook as a managing director, effective Aug. 1.

Subsequently, she will be appointed a director of the Shell Petroleum NV board and a managing director of Shell Petroleum Co. Ltd., thereby becoming a group managing director of the Royal Dutch/Shell Group.

Previously, Cook was Shell Canada Ltd., president and CEO. Before that, she was chief executive of Royal Dutch/Shell's global gas and power business (OGJ, Feb. 10, 2003, p. 30).
